Jesus described himself as “gentle and humble in heart.” Gentleness does not mean lacking strength. Rather, it describes how strength is used. God’s love is never coercive, but always invitational. When we embrace life in the Spirit, we can exercise the self-control needed to harness our strength and use the power God gives us to share our faith and the love of God with gentleness and sincerity.
