Everything we have belongs to God, and we are simply managing those resources while here on earth. Through our tithes and offerings, we demonstrate in a tangible way our love for God and our neighbors. Each year, we ask our members to commit to their tithes and offerings for the coming year in support of our church’s ministry and mission. We do this for three reasons:
- All we have is a gift from God, so we believe that giving to God’s work is an act of worship.
- At Church of the Saviour, giving is an expectation of membership. The church does not specify how much an individual should give, but we hope each person will commit a percentage of their income and increase that amount as they are able.
- Annual giving makes possible: worship, programs for children and youth, Bible studies, small groups, pastoral care and support, mission trips and community projects.
Stewardship is not simply a method for us to raise money. It is a way of life that recognizes that everything we have is God’s and we are simply managing those resources here on earth.
At Church of the Saviour we engage in an annual Faith Giving Campaign, an approach to financial stewarship predicated on God’s abundant blessings rather than a church budget-based calculation of pledged giving.
Your intention of giving, or pledge, is a convenant between you and God. Prayerfully consider how much you will commit to God’s work in the coming year. We encourage everyone to identify that amount as a percentage of your household income, striving to grow toward a tithe.
Legacy and memorial gifts are established with the Church of the Saviour Foundation. Those gifts and the diligent stewardship of the Foundation’s management is essential to the church’s ongoing mission. Over the last decade, the Church of the Saviour Foundation has provided over $3.7 million in grants to cover capital needs, start-up funds for new ministries, and mission support.
